We Like To Move It Move It

Well, we're usually pretty much home bodies, but so far this spring we've been going going. It started with our Family Camp during our spring break. We went with a group of families to Pigeon Forge, TN. We had a great time living in Community with all the families and spending time with our own. Sophie wasn't feeling great during the week; we later found there was some yellow stuff oozing out of her ear. (Gross, I know). Needless, to say she didn't sleep great during the week and we all slept in one room, so WE didn't sleep great, but it really was a great week. I just can't remember being as tired as I was that week in a really long time.
We were home for just a few days and then we left for Seaside, Fl for our annual Hale Family Vacation. This week was MUCH more relaxing. Sophie had her own room, the oozing ear was better and we just loved spending time with Curt's parents and brother's family. A special thanks to Mom and Dad Hale who sacrifice a lot for our pleasure. They paid for the week and provided a "money bowl" to cover any fun activities during the week...going out to dinner, ice cream, facials, pedicures. It was a really great week. Thanks again Nana and Beebaw.

We got home Wednesday night from Florida and my parents came Thursday to spend the night so they could keep our kids while I had a dental procedure done-I got a tooth implant because I've always been missing an adult tooth. Apparently this is hereditary from my Daddy. (I'm not going to post the picture of me toothless before the procedure. It was not pretty. Funny, but not pretty.) Then, on Saturday we had a Easter Egg Hunt with some friends. Then, on Sunday we all got up super early to go to church and celebrate Christ being alive at the 6:30a.m. service. The kids and I then continued on to my Aunt Pat's house for our long loved tradition of eating lunch together, hiding and seeking Easter Eggs and the raw egg toss. This is probably one of my most treasured extended family traditions. The weather was beautiful. Aunt Pat made my grandmother's traditional strawberry cake and chicken pie. I loved getting to spend the Resurrection day with my family. It's always a day full of memories of Easters past, and it never fails to make me miss my Grandmother terribly. It always feels like she'll be there when I drive up.
So, that's pretty much the summary of the recent Hale Family activities. I realize this is about 3 or 4 blog posts rolled into one. Here are some pictures of the previously mentioned events.

One of the highlights of the trip, was the first hotel room that the kids have ever stayed in. You seriously would have thought we were staying in Trump Towers, the way Abram was acting. While we were unloading the van, he kept running out of the room and saying, "Mom, they have a coffee pot." "Mom, they have towels". "Mom, there are TWO BEDS and an IRONING BOARD." If he ever stays in a hotel that costs more than $64.99 a night, we might have to resuscitate him. The next day we went to Ruby Falls. The boys really liked going underground.

It was really dark and alarming when the flash went off, thus the strange expressions.
On the way to family camp, Roe passed out from exhaustion. It took us forever to wake him up.
That boy can sleep.

Everybody had a walking stick.

We went on a hike through a National Park. We were looking for a waterfall. We eventually found it, Abram fell in, but all ended well. Just left a little wet and muddy.
One of our activities for Family Camp was to build an alter to God as a family as a symbol of remembering all that He has done for us in the past and all that He means to us. So, during our hike we stopped and built one. The day before we had taken the circle piece of wood and written on it ways that God had protected our family and provided for our family. Roe said one way he remembered God protecting and providing for us was during Hurricane Katrina. He was only 3 and 1/2 when that happened, so I thought it was neat that he mentioned that. We then took turns finding different things to lay on the alter and just saying what God means in our lives. It was a special time.

This picture of Roe looks funny. Think the goggles were a little too tight. He's a little fish in the water. Love that sweet boy.
It took her a little while to decide to get in, but once she decided Sophie loved the pool.
Of course, we haven't found anything Abram doesn't love...well salads freak him out (his words, not mine), but he LOVES the pool, floaties, and the beach.
Sophie's giant fish mouth float to shade her very whiteness from the sun.

Nana and her grandchildren. Beebaw wasn't feeling well this night, so sorry he missed the picture.

Dying Easter eggs was a little tricky with Sophie, who thought they were balls and kept trying to throw them. This year we made Easter Egg People.
Our Easter Egg Hunt with friends. Waiting to find those eggs.

Sophie really got into hunting eggs. Cousin Reece helped...that's his body, didn't get his head in the picture. Sorry Reece.
Me and my sisters. My hair is a bit large due to the wind and humidity, but I love my sisters so much I wanted to include this picture. So thankful for them.
